Keep off the grass (it belongs to the clouds)

We've lived through the birth of the Internet, felt the first confusing pain of self awareness and now it frowns contemplating self control.
I see two distinct beings, the "Web Child" who that wants to dance barefoot in the meadows of I-Eden and the gathering clouds of responsible adults who want to form governments, controlling bodies, erect fences laws and recover taxes from that emerald meadow.

It's a time of change, our children may look back with a certain wistful longing for the mythical days of Web-1.

There are fairly reliable ways to see who has contributed or accessed what on the current web but things will be different when everything has an unique, unchanging address.
Each phone, laptop or desktop will be individually identifiable and from the day it is connected to the internet it will be recorded by databases. When it becomes easy to trace a PC it will become worthwhile building the real databases.

The clouds are coming.
With more retailers moving their operations to web hosted services there will be a increasingly valuable pool of profiling information available to the likes of Amazon or Google. They will be watching YOU and when the walls are up and you are carrying the IPV6 mark (I'll leave the conspirisists to work out how that is the number of the beast) it is going to be so much easier to get inside your head, life, wallet.

Sooner or later reality is going to seen a whole lot less intrusive than a walk in that digital meadow.

Thank commercial gods for Web2 that whole barefoot thing was so hard to "leverage".
