I wonder what font to use?
(I wonder how many people have died needlessly in the world while I spent time considering that.)
Last week we got a couple of Microsoft Servers in a work, makes a change from the years of running virtually zero cost Linux for our file servers.
This opens us to loads more support and licensing charges, now this might seem unrelated to the comment about people dying in the world but it just reminds me, we in the developed world are just cash cows and everyone else, potential cash cows.
Seems to me the idea of excellence in engineering has been replaced by the maximum return, maximum take from the cash cows, namely you and me.
It's not a problem if the big companies put out stuff that is unfinished, needs lots of fettling and support as well, support is milking the cow.
Any bit of software you use or service receive that doesn't need you to be paying into the coffers of some multinational is a missed opportunity, they wont like that, unless of course you don't have any money, in which case you are less important than the font on most companies websites.
